HDMI 2.0 nearly doubles its video bandwidth, jumping from 10.2 Gbit/s to 18 Gbit/s. It also increases audio bandwidth by 25%, and increases compatibility with 3D formats. Fortunately, HDMI 2.0 doesn't require new cables. It's just an updated spec for devices. Existing HDMI 1.4 cables are fully compatible with it, and should be for some time to come.
