Strain-Relief Boots for Stereo Panelmount

For improved durability and consistency, we are now manufacturing our various panel-mount stereo cables with strain-relief boots instead of shrink tubing.

Without impacting functionality or flexibility, our assembly team has developed a new method for building panel-mount 3.5mm stereo audio cables. Rather than using heat-glue to secure the contacts and adding a shrink-wrap covering, all female 3.5mm jacks will use rubber strain-relief boots.

These boots are more attractive and more durable than the shrink wrap, and do not affect the mounting dimensions of the connector. We currently manufacture all of our stereo panelmount cables in-house, but will soon be carrying moulded cables from our overseas factories for stock lengths. The relief boots will help minimize the aesthetic difference between custom cables and the stock ones, moreso than the heat shrink would.
