The DataPro 1394AB series cable is an
IEEE-1394 compliant cable in a 6-pin
(type 'A') to 4-pin (type 'B') format.
This is the most standard host-to-device
configuration, as most computers and
video hardware processors use the 6-pin
connector and most camcorders and electronics
use the smaller 4-pin connector.
IEEE-1394 cabling is also commonly
referred to as "FireWire" or i.Link, and is
an incredibly fast and reliable alternative
to USB 2.0.
IEEE-1394 cabling provides high-speed
data transmission for digital audio and
video applications, and is designed to
reduce cabling and interface costs.
The bus allows up to 63 devices to be
daisy-chained through a common interface.
