The 1597 series cable is a USB
Type A to Sony Mini B 4-pin cable.
The type 'A' connector is a flat-looking
rectangle that plugs into downstream
port sockets, such as those on a computer or hub.
The Sony Mini type-B connector, small,
roughly square but with bevelled
corners, plugs into upstream
sockets on peripheral devices, such as
digital cameras.
This cable is a special 4-pin cable
for most Sony Digital cameras. Sony
uses a mini-'B' connector that looks
very similar in size and shape to the
standard mini-'B' connector, however
the Sony connector is not the same.
This connector is very square, whereas a
standard mini USB connector is a beveled trapezoid.
Many digital cameras are compatible
with this cable, but not all of them. Make
sure that your camera uses a 4-pin Sony
Mini-B connection before purchasing
this cable.
