The USB External Hard Drive Enclosure
is designed to connect most ATA/ATAPI
3.5" hard drives to a computer via the
USB 1.1 or 2.0 port.
Simply plug the USB connector into the
PC USB port and mount the hard drive
into the aluminum enclosure.
The convertor is powered by an external
DC power adaptor and includes a 4-pin
molex connector to power the drive.
This product can be used to switch hard
drives without restarting your computer.
Supported methods are suspending the
computer, removing the USB device, or
disabling the USB device. When the computer
or USB device is resumed, it will read
and initialize the new drive.
NOTE: If you cannot or choose not to use
the 110 volt transformer shipped with the
unit, we can make you a DataPro P/N 1919
that is 3 feet long that you can connect
from inside your PC to the external drive.
NOTE: This device only works with a single
hard drive, which must be set to "Master"
or "Single Drive", whichever applies to your
hard drive. It will not work with a "Slaved"
hard drive.
