This power cord is similar to a standard IEC-320 computer power cord, with a 3-prong
North American outlet plug on the other end. It is rated and certified for use
in industrial and medical environments, and is therefore tagged with a green dot
to indicate it as a hospital power card.
While this cable features the same 3 connector interface found on virtually
all computers, this hospital grade power cable is compliant with UL 60601-1 and
CAN/CSA 60601-1. These requirements mandate stricter grounding durability, cable
construction, and endurance environments than the normal NEMA standards.
