The USE-350 is a USB-over-CAT5 extender that doubly functions as a 4-port USB hub.
It consists of two components: a local component with a built-in USB cord, which plugs
directly into a computer; and a remote component with four USB ports, supporting
up to four peripheral devices.
The two units can be connected with Cat5 (as well as Cat5e or Cat6) ethernet wire
up to 150 feet away, and functions as a transparent USB hub on the local computer.
Because of limitations of the Cat5 ethernet wire, USB-over-ethernet only functions
at USB 1.1 speeds. This will have minimal impact on connecting USB printers, keyboards,
mice, and cameras, but is not ideal for external hard drives and optical drives.
