The DataPro 2442 series of data switches is a pushbutton type data switch with Break-Before-Make type switch.
This data switch is normally used to allow several USB hosts (usually computers) to share one USB device, such as a
printer, scanner or camera. Although a manual switch is somewhat archaic, exclusive-use interfaces like USB are
not able to be passively split and these types of switch boxes are the easiest and most economical method of sharing.
To allow a single host computer to select between several USB devices, see our P/N 2440 which
has inverted 'A' and 'B' ports from this model.
These switches are housed in a durable metal box and are fully shielded. This box is High-Speed USB 2.0 compliant.
The common connector is USB type 'A', and the port connectors are USB type 'B'.
