For running high-definition digital displays from analog-only sources, the DataPro
VGA to DVI convertor is the perfect solution. This small transcoder box accepts
a standard analog VGA (15-pin) input from any standard computer video card, and
outputs a fully-digital DVI signal for flatscreen monitors, plasma displays, and
other HDTV products. The outbound DVI signal is true digital, which means it can
even be converted to HDTV for high-end electronics.
This palm-sized analog to digital converter features a row of DIP-switches to optimize
the converted signal, including horizontal adjustment, vertical adjustment, and
sharpness tuning. It outputs DVI-D at the same resolution as the VGA input, which
supports the following settings:
- VGA70 - 720x480 - 70Hz
- VGA - 640x480 - 60 / 75Hz
- SVGA - 800x600 - 60/ 75 / 85Hz
- XGA - 1024x768 - 60 / 75 / 85Hz
- SXGA - 1280x1024 - 60 / 75 / 85Hz
- UXGA - 1600x1200 - 60Hz
Note that this product does not support widescreen resolutions. Many widescreen LCD displays cannot scale content; in particular, this product will not work with Apple or Dell 30" displays.
This inline converter also features a booster, allowing up to 12 meters of cable
on either end for runs totalling up to 24 meters in length.
A VGA cable is included.
