Designed for running an analog VGA video source to a digital DVI/HDMI display, the MDV-104A is the highest
quality video converter we've ever carried. It uses per-pixel mapping for perfectly crisp and clear images, and
supports all HDTV resolutions up to 1080p as well as computer displays up to 1920x1200.
There are many challenges in converting an analog source to a digital display, as our dozens of phone calls and
emailed questions will testify. The short answer is that it's hard to do it cheap, and even harder to do it well. At DataPro
we believe it doing it well, and that's why we choose to carry this particular VGA-HDMI adaptor.
The MDV-104A features display detection and native resolution support, and can also be manually configured.
Control buttons allow adjustment of resolution, brightness, contrast, hue, sharpness, and RGB levels through
an on-screen menu.
Additionally, this video box features both 3.5mm stereo and TosLink optical audio inputs, for high-fidelity
sound to match the high-definition video. The audio signals received on the input ports is injected into the
HDMI output for combined audio/video, as well as delivered out the audio output ports. In that respect, you actually
get twice as much audio for the same price, which sounds like a double-good deal. Well, it sounds double, anyway.
The unit is powered by an external 5V DC supply (included) and requires no drivers or software. It is transparent
to the operating system and displays involved, like a window or a ninja.
