Finally possible: digital DVI to analog VGA conversion! With our new digital
transcoder box, you can convert a digital DVI-D or HDMI signal to an analog
VGA signal for display on CRT monitors, analog video systems, and television
displays.
This high-resolution power converter box accepts a DVI input of up to 1600x1200 (UXGA),
and outputs a VGA signal at the same rate. Because it is externally powered, it
features inline boosting capabilities and allows for up to 12 meters of cable length
on each end of the device, for a total of up to 24 meters between your source
and display.
The purpose of this device is to bridge the gap between digital-only DVI outputs,
found on some computer display cards, DVD players, and any DVI that has been
pinned from an HDMI (which is entirely digital), and display the signal in full-resolution
on analog-only VGA displays. This unit will maintain picture fidelity at the maximum
quality of the analog signal, but will not have improved picture over that of a
wholly analog (VGA-to-VGA) run.
When combined with a DVI to HDMI cable, this
unit can function as an HDMI to analog transcoder. DVI-D and HDMI signals are
fully compatible, making the HDMI to VGA conversion identical.
