*Please note, these cables will not work for Thunderbolt displays*
Newer Macintosh computers and LED Cinema Displays use a new type of
video connector called Mini DisplayPort. Unfortunately, the cable built-in
to the Apple display is only about 3 feet long, which is too short for many
applications.
We have the solution! Our Mini-DisplayPort extension cable features a female
end designed to connect to the Apple LED Cinema Display, and a male end
designed to connect to any new MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Pro,
iMac, or Mac Mini. These cables will also be compatible with new Apple
hardware as long as Mini-DisplayPort is Apple's connector of choice.
Now you can connect a Mac Pro desktop or Mac Mini from under your desk to an
LED Cinema Display on your desk, or extend your connection even further to a
display in another location entirely. You can also use video mirroring on
your MacBook or MacBook Pro to give a presentation on a distant 24-inch Apple
LED Cinema Display.
These extension cables can also be used with our
Mini-DisplayPort
to DVI adapter,
Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, or
Mini-DisplayPort to
VGA adapter to connect to any type of display, such as a projector, HDTV,
or non-Apple monitor.
You can also extend the USB connection on the latest Apple LED Cinema Display
with our USB extension
cables to provide iSight camera, microphone, speakers, and USB hub
functionality.
