The 1594 series cable is a USB type
'A' to 'B' (host to device) cable. This
is the most basic and prolific USB
cable, and is used for virtually every
USB printer, scanner, and external enclosure
on the market.
Unless a device is specifically designed to
be low-profile or a small form factor, it
will typically use the B-type USB connector
as its interface. The same USB A/B cable can
be used on any scanner, printer, or other
peripheral.
The type 'A' connector is a flattened
rectangle that plugs into downstream
port sockets on the USB hub or USB host.
The USB-B connector, somewhat square-ish
with two bevelled corners, plugs into
upstream sockets on devices and hubs.
This cable is USB 2.0 compliant.
Please note that if you would like to extend your USB connection more than 15 feet from source to device, you'll need to use an active USB booster cable or active USB booster.
