The DataPro 1776 series cable is a Category-5E rated 100 Mhz network
crossover cable for use with modern computer networks and internets.
The wirings between the two connectors have crossed data channels, allowing
two computers to directly interface each other without an intermediary
hub or switch.
This type of cable assembly was essential in former times, but most modern
network-connected equipment features crossover detection that will automatically
switch the communication pins based on network negotiations. As such, crossover
cables are not as popular or relevant as they once were, but in case you need one,
here they are!
Both connections on this assembly are RJ45 male (plug) connectors, and this
is compliant with Cat5e speeds on 10-Base-T and 10/100 networks. They also
function perfectly well on Gigabit networks, for forward compatibility most
folks
All connectors are wired EIA/TIA 568-B crossover (direct-connect)
unless otherwise specified by customer.
We also have standard straight-through
Ethernet cables available.
Our stock crossover cables are YELLOW in color to distinguish them from regular straight-through
ethernet cables (usually blue, white, or gray), but we will gladly build this
cable using any of our colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black, Grey, and White.
We also build this cable in any length you require.
The distance limitation for this type of
cable is approximately 100 feet - shorter
than for a normal, straight-through patch cable.
