The DataPro 4002 series Null Modem Port
File Transfer Cable is commonly used to
connect two PC serial ports (COM:)
to each other for file transfer.
The ends are both DB09F connectors with
slotted thumbscrews.
This cable is compatible with DOS, Windows,
Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP, and Linux.
This cable is not wired straight-thru,
but rather with null-modem pinouts.
It is designed for PC-to-PC connections,
but is also commonly used for DuoLink and
Interlink style printers which feature a
male DB09 nine-pin connector.
We also build this cable in any length you
require.
We have built this cable up to 50 feet with
no loss of data encountered. These lengths
will vary depending on your equipment and
conditions.
For this same type of connectiviy, but using
two computers' parallel ports (LPT) instead,
see our 1001 series cables.
